*Peppy suffers from what I refer to as 'Post Cruise Depression.' Up until yesterday (when I googled the term) I didn't realize that it was actually a pretty common thing. I mean, it was basically just used in jest, but it seems like tons of people feel the same way as Peppy. For about a month after we go on a cruise he is in a funk. He will constantly email me links to websites about cruises and potential vacations. He feels the swaying of the ship for almost a week after we get back home. And every day he will say something like, "Do you remember what we were doing at this time _______ days ago?" Since we both have summer birthdays, we have decided to combine our birthday money this year and go on another cruise in July. My parents currently have an empty nest for the first time in almost 30 years. So my mom should love watching my kids for a week.....right? ;-)
*Over the weekend I was going to take the boys to Early Works. We were just about to walk out the door, when Gage tripped and busted his nose. He's never had a nose bleed before, and it looked pretty horrible. There was blood everywhere. But ten minutes later it was all cleaned up and he said he still wanted to go to Early Works. We got on the interstate, but had to get off a couple miles later due to a police barricade. Turns out that ten minutes earlier (the time we should have been on the interstate) a police chase was going on. There was an erratic driver pointing a gun at other cars. When they finally caught the guy, it caused a wreck with two other cars, sending them to the hospital. It's really crazy to think that if Gage hadn't tripped we would have been right in the middle of that police chase.
*All right. Who watched American Horror Story: Asylum? What did you think? (Without giving any spoilers away) I really enjoyed both seasons, but I think I might have liked Asylum better. It dealt with mental demons, which I think can be more terrifying than ghosts or spirits. I also really loved that although the two seasons weren't directly related, many of the cast members rolled over. Peppy didn't watch the first season, and he might have gotten annoyed every time I would scream out, "OH! They played soandso during season one!"
*The only downside of our booth seating is that Owsley can currently reach the light switch. Now he knows not to turn it on/off over and over, but sometimes he just doesn't care. And last night he somehow flicked the switch too hard, causing a wire to disconnect, leaving us without a kitchen light. This isn't too bad during the day, but at night it's pretty dang dark. I think this is a pretty viable excuse to keep me from cooking dinner until the light is fixed.
*One last thing. Peppy picked up some Kroger brand triple brownie ice cream. That stuff is where it's at.

haha, sounds like you have some seriously fun adventures to look forward to this year! Hey, let me know what cruise you are going on--hubby and I also want to take another one around that time, out of Tampa--perhaps we'll see you (that would be cool to run into you) um, unless that is a creepy request. Not that we would want to hang out with you. Because we'd be busy. But, saying hello would be awesome.
Weird about that auto accident. I hope they captured the maniac!
You guys are going to have so much fun at Disney!
I'm glad that you guys weren't in the middle of that police chase! That is so scary.
Unfortunately, Ziggy can reach our light switches. He did the same thing in my bathroom, well, just the little room where the toilet is, but it's still annoying.
We had a meeting with someone at the courthouse, and he got away from me and started flicking the light switch like crazy. Incidentally, the people in the room had zero sense of humor about it.
I've heard of Post-Vacation Depression so Post-Cruise definitely makes sense. How exciting that you guys are going to Disney World! I only went once, when I was four, for a "Give Kids the World" (sort of a make-a-wish) thing. I remember it being cool but also being terrified of the giant Epcot ball, haha!
I love this little bit o randomness. I definitely understand post-cruise depression! I've never been on a cruise but sometimes it's hard to come back home to dishes and laundry and real life after an especially good trip. I'm excited y'all are going on another cruise too! Do you know where yet? I really want to cruise to Alaska on our 5 year anniversary. We'll leave our two-year-old with my parents. =o
I'm super excited to see Disney Land/World through my kids' eyes someday too, but also my husband's since he's never been!
Wait! I thought you guys went to Disney World last year?! I may be confusing you with someone else, though... At any rate, that sounds awesome! And a cruise for a week with Peppy? That's so cool!
I hope I can be brave enough one day to leave our little ones. I struggle with the same fear you do- about dying without them. Morbid, eh?
Wow about the police chase. My mom was very big on things that were meant to be, and she would point out freaky occurences like this often. Still gives me goosebumps!
I was exactly like Peppy when I came home from Vegas. And OMG Disney!! As a season pass holder, I'm there 2+ times a week. If you need any tips/advice feel free to ask!! :)
I'm jealous. I've been trying to talk Jeremy into going on a cruise, but we aren't sure about being that many miles away from our babies! (even though the oldest wil be 7 in 2 weeks!!!! Where did the time go?)
Did you not go to Disney when we went with the band that year? I think it was junior year. Good times. ;)
I loved Epcot too when I was younger. Epcot and MGM. Haha. I hope you and your family have the best time when you go on spring break!
Yay for Disney! My best friend just got back from a trip with her 3 girls and I seriously cried just looking at her pictures. We keep saying we are going to make a trip soon, we need to get on it!
